Behind the Photos

Blaise Byrd is a wildlife enthusiast, herpetologist, and photographer based out of North Carolina.

Blaise, however, is not an autobiographer. It is a rare day when he talks about himself. Instead, he prefers to use words for their real purpose: reptiles and amphibians

So here are a few things about Blaise written by his brother:

  • He will turn a mean, aggressive snake (Blaise would say mean snakes do not exist) into a cute and cuddly creature wrapped around his arm. He is a literal snake charmer.

  • Not even a green snake in a green tree in the middle of the night can hide from Blaise’s eagle eyes when he is night cruising. He will see them every time, and he will slam on the brakes so it is recommended not to eat or drink while a passenger.

  • There is no one on this planet better to bring on an adventure. He will climb anything and swim in waters that are not for swimming. He will talk to animals in the jungle to get directions. He will jump off a ledge to prevent you from falling (it was me who was falling). And he is also quite the comedian.

Now that you know a little about the man behind the myths, consider buying one of his prints. It is well known that finding reptiles in the forest doesn’t make one rich in coin (only rich in spirit).
